Romanian Government Scholarship 2024-25 in Romania (Fully Funded)

The Romanian Government Scholarship for the academic year 2024-25 is now open for applications. This fully-funded scholarship, provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is available to international students from non-European Union countries. The scholarship covers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees and allows students worldwide to study in Romania without any financial burden.

The scholarship is entirely financed and will take care of all costs. Required Documents:

For your application file to be complete, it should include these essential papers:

  • An official letter from either the diplomatic mission of your home country accredited to Bucharest or the Romanian diplomatic mission in your home country or place of residence.
  • A properly filled MFA scholarship application form for studying in Romania (APPENDIX I).
  • The MER application form (APPENDIX 2) necessary for obtaining the Letter of Acceptance to study in Romania.
  • Legalized copies of all earned academic diplomas (this includes baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees if any) alongside their legalized translations into either English, French, or Romanian as needed.
  • If relevant, legalized copies of matriculation sheets/diploma supplements pertaining to postgraduate studies and their legalized translations.
  • A notarized birth certificate, along with a certified translation in either English, French or Romanian is required.
  • You must also provide photocopies of the first three pages of your passport.
  • A medical clearance certificate confirming you don’t have any infectious diseases or other health conditions that could interfere with your studies is necessary.
  • Please include your CV and two recent passport-sized photographs in the application package.
    For those who fall into certain categories, additional documents are needed:
  • If you’ve changed your name, provide proof via a legally endorsed copy and translated document.
  • For those who have recently graduated, whether it’s a baccalaureate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree, submit a certified copy and translation of the certificate indicating successful completion.
  • If you’ve completed a Romanian preparatory year or hold language proficiency certification, please include this as well.
  • For applicants under legal age, ensure to include a parental consent declaration in either English, French or Romanian.

Eligibility Criteria:

International students hailing from all global regions, with the exception of European Union member countries, are welcome.

They should not possess Romanian citizenship.

The age limit for undergraduate and master’s studies is 35 years, while for doctoral and postgraduate studies it’s capped at 45 years.
